Business Transformation with Virtualization
Virtualization dramatically improves the efficiency and availability of resources and applications in your organization. Internal resources are underutilized under the old “one server, one application” model and IT administrators spend too much time managing servers rather than innovating. An automated datacenter, built on a virtualization platform, lets you respond to market dynamics faster and more efficiently than ever before. Virtual Infrastructure delivers resources, applications—even servers—when and where they’re needed. Virtualization typically save 50-70% on overall IT costs by consolidating their resource pools and delivering highly available machines with Virtual Infrastructure.

  • Reduce capital costs by requiring less hardware and lowering operational costs while increasing your server to admin ratio
  • Ensure your enterprise applications perform with the highest availability and performance
  • Build up business continuity through improved disaster recovery solutions and deliver high availability throughout the datacenter
  • Improve desktop management with faster deployment of desktops and fewer support calls due to application conflicts

Get the flexibility you need to build and sustain your competitive advantage while reducing infrastructure costs with virtualization.

Why Your Company Should Virtualize
Virtualizing your IT infrastructure lets you reduce IT costs while increasing the efficiency, utilization, and flexibility of your existing assets. Around the world, companies of every size benefit from virtualization. Thousands of organizations - including all of the Fortune 100 - use virtualization solutions. See how building a virtual datacenter will benefit your organization.

Top 5 Reasons to Adopt Virtualization Software
1. Get more out of your existing resources: Pool common infrastructure resources and break the legacy “one application to one server” model with server consolidation.
2. Reduce datacenter costs by reducing your physical infrastructure and improving your server to admin ratio: Fewer servers and related IT hardware means reduced real estate and reduced power and cooling requirements. Better management tools let you improve your server to admin ratio so personnel requirements are reduced as well.
3. Increase availability of hardware and applications for improved business continuity: Securely backup and migrate entire virtual environments with no interruption in service. Eliminate planned downtime and recover immediately from unplanned issues.
4. Gain operational flexibility: Respond to market changes with dynamic resource management, faster server provisioning and improved desktop and application deployment.
5. Improve desktop manageability and security: Deploy, manage and monitor secure desktop environments that users can access locally or remotely, with or without a network connection, on almost any standard desktop, laptop or tablet PC.

Methodology
Nexgen recognizes that complex projects require solid project management and a proven methodology. Leveraging VMware Virtual Infrastructure Methodology (VIM) Nexgen follows the following methodology principals:

Vim

Assess
Nexgen experts obtain customer requirements through a collaborative and iterative approach as well as traditional methods of documentation review and interviews. A project team is created based on our customer requirements and technologies used at our customer's site. The project team is led by an experienced project manager who is also certified in virtualization technologies. Customer requirements are documented and validated by our customer through collaborative workshops and the use of specialized infrastructure analysis tools.

Design
Nexgen design architects, engineers, and vendor partners work together in an iterative design process. We begin at the architecture level, taking into account our customer requirements (both business and technical). From there, we develop a high-level design so that cost analysis can be performed. The high-level design is vetted with our customers and vendor partners. Designs are reviewed by Nexgen company senior architects to ensure that best practices (including ITIL) are followed. The high-level design also allows Nexgen to develop a Concept of Operations so that customers have a vision to ensure that the design meets all business and technical requirements. Once the customer accepts the high-level design, a detailed design is then created. The detailed design includes a bill of materials (BOM) and provides a baseline for CAPEX and OPEX financial analysis. Additionally, deployment planning can be refined after the detailed design is complete. Design check-points are established for customer, vendor partner, and Nexgen project team review.

Deploy
The Nexgen team works with the customer to finalize the deployment plan. This may include assisting the government in developing the request for proposal (RFP) and/or statement of work (SOW) for large-scale deployments. Under this scenario Nexgen can play an oversight role for the Program Management Office (PMO), performing independent verification and validation (IV&V) on the deployment. Nexgen also has the capability of serving as the integrator for smaller datacenter deployments.

Manage
Throughout the deployment process Nexgen ensures that the design and deployment plans are followed. Once deployment has been completed, Nexgen completes an assessment to ensure that the customer's business and technical requirements have been met. The assessment includes a thorough report that details the following criteria: Solution conforms to technical and business requirements System operations are stabile in new environment System performance metrics that show operational health
